Created within the framework of the Atardece en Trópico (Tropical Sunset) series, the Vorágine studies were born from a long-standing reflection on the novel La Vorágine by José Eustasio Rivera—a story set between the plains and the Amazon jungle and first encountered during the artist’s childhood.
The novel’s epilogue lingered in memory, resurfacing over time through drawings that evolved and reemerged in these recent works. The result is a vessel shaped by remembrance, movement, and place—where literature, landscape, and form converge into a functional work of art.
